Summer Learning Journey NASA Coloring Book

 Today I did the summer learning journey NASA coloring book. At first it was sort of difficult choosing which one to colour but I managed to find one and completed the colouring. I didn't learnt that many things from this activity but one I learnt was about NASA and all there rockets and facts and I found that really interesting. I really enjoyed doing this activity and I can't wait to do the summer learning journey.

  

PAT Tests

 Throughout this week my class and I were assigned to do our PAT Test. We did four PAT test and that was math, grammar, reading, and vocab. For my PAT math test I got a stanine 5, for my PAT grammar test I also got a stanine 5, for my PAT reading test I got a stanine 7, and finally for my vocab test I got a stanine 4. For my year level the average stanine to get is a stanine 5 and as you can see I got a stanine 4 on my vocab, but I passed all the other tests. 

The PAT test was very difficult especially the vocab but I managed to complete all the tests. I'm really happy with all my result, but I know I can do better next year. My goal for next year is to work on my vocab and all the other PAT test and also listen I little bit more so I can have a better understanding with my work. I'm really happy with my result and I enjoyed  doing my tests throughout this week.  

Cybersmart Challenge 29

 Today I did cybersmart challenge 29, using information from the web. The challenge was sort of hard but I managed to complete the challenge. I didn't learn that many things but one thing I learnt was that to put everything in your words if your getting the information from the web. I had lots of fun doing this challenge and I hope everyone enjoys it.

Storyboard Poem

 On the second day of school after are long lockdown I have made a storyboard to show my learning. My storyboard is from a poem called School Teacher by Liz Allen, on the poem I needed to make a storyboard about one of my favourite stanza on the poem. The one stanza I chose was about a plane crash, and how the character in the poem was talking about the plane crash from there yesterday news. I had really enjoyed making this storyboard and I hope you enjoy my storyboard. 

MyOn Quiz

Today for reading I was reading a amazing book called Point Guard Prank. My sum of the book was about a boy named Ryan he got pranked during his basketball games and training, eventually he figured out who pranked him all those time, it was his classmate Ned he wasn't really happy with Ned but was really happy he found Ned the prankster so he can stop. Finally at the end of the book his team went into the semifinal and won. The MyOn quiz was sort of easy and fun to read because it really described and well said about the book. The quiz was sort of hard but I managed to complete, and as you can see on the MyOn quiz I got 4/5 and I'm really happy of my result I got for my MyOn quiz.

Prototec Basic Facts Stage 8

 Today I did Prototec stage 8 time. At first it was really hard and I kept getting the same score, but I kept trying and trying and I was able to get 90% on stage 8 time. Most questions were sort of hard and some were easy, on my basic facts test I got 36/40. My goal for next time is to try and get 95% or 100% so I can finally finish stage 8. I'm really happy with my result and I hope I can reach my goal for next time.

My Lockdown Holiday

 SLAM! Hearing my dad close the door leaving for work. My mind is so empty everyday I wake up on a casual lockdown day. This holiday was the most boring est holiday ever, because of lockdown. On the holidays I just played video games and did fitness most days. It was sort of boring doing the same thing over and over again but I managed to entertain myself for a whole two weeks. My opinion on the school holidays in lockdown is I really disliked it because it was boring, couldn't go places, also lockdown, and everyone hates lockdown. The most exciting thing I want to do after lockdown is to go back to school and just do the usual things I did before lockdown came. 

Climate Change DLO

 Throughout the week I have been making a DLO about climate change. At first it was hard to make the DLO but when I learnt more about climate change I had collected lots of information and I managed to finish my DLO. I have made a slide show to show my learning and I hope you enjoy and learn from my slide show.

Underground Explorers

Today I did a Screencastify about the book Underground Explorers. The activity was really simple because I just needed to read one page and record myself reading. I learnt a lot just by reading that small text about caves but I know how it is important to learn about that and I learnt that the Bulmer Cavern was discovered in 1984. I really enjoyed reading and I hope everyone enjoys my Screencastify.

Cybersmart Challenge 19 Google Meet Etiquette

 Today I did cybersmart challenge 19 Google Meet Etiquette. The challenge was very simple because, I used Google Meet a couple of time and I'm really use to it. I learnt not that much, but it remained me what I should do during a Google Meet. I had lots of fun doing this challenge and I hope everyone has a wonderful day.    

Limerick

 Today my class and I review backed on figure of speech. Learning about figure of speech wasn't new to all of us but learning about figure of speech really helped me remember what it is. First we learnt about metaphors and smilies. Then we learnt about personification and alliteration. Finally we learnt about limericks. What I did today was make a limerick it was really fun to make and I hope you guys enjoy my limerick.

   

Pixel Art

 Throughout this week I was working on my pixel art gif. This activity was really difficult because I was very new on Pixel Art but when I was just playing with it, I learnt a lots and it was really fun. What I made on the Pixel Art was so long to make but I gave it my best and it was really fun to make because was the same idea of a video game. I had lots of fun making this gif and I hope you enjoy it.

Science Topic 10 States of Matter

 Today at science we were learning about states of matter. When I joined the Google Meets I was welcomed by Mrs Sharma. First we needed to make a doc for a lesson and to take notes for the video we were about to watch about states of matter. After we watched the video we had to get 10 photo about liquid, gas, and solid and that was sort of easy but it sort of took long to do it, but I managed to finish it. Then we needed to do a activity that was really fast to do and simple. Finally to end are lesson we played are Kahoot and that was really fun. What I learnt at science was about the particles in the liquid, gas and solid and that was very interesting and fun but it was challenging doing it online. I had fun during are lockdown lesson and I thanks Mrs Sharma for teaching us about states of matter.
  

Earth Science Quiz

 This term room 6 and 7 are learning about earth science. To show my learning  I had made a quiz about earth science, it was really hard to come up with the questions but I managed to finish the quiz. I learnt a lot about earth science, like the core, mantle, and the crust are the layers of the earth, and I learnt lots of new words like geoid, gondwanaland and plenty more. I had lots of fun doing this activity and I hope you enjoy my quiz.

My Science Investigation

Today at science we were learning about heart rate and pulse rate. When we got there we needed to write a hypothesis of a heart rate. Also I got a smartwatch from Mrs Sharma to measure a heartbeat. First we used the smartwatch to count my heart beat in 30 seconds when I’m sitting down. Next I had to jog on the spot for 30 seconds to see what I get for my heart beat. Then I had to throw and catch a tennis ball to my buddy for 30 seconds. After that I needed to do stretches for 30 seconds and star jumps for 30 seconds. Finally I ran outside for 30 seconds. While we were doing the activity we needed to write down are result. At the end we wrote down the steps we did today and then wrote are result and are a hypothesis. My hypothesis was correct and I had lots of fun doing this physical activity.

  

  

New Zealand Olympians

 Throughout the week, room 6 and I has been learning about the Olympics. It was really easy making the slide, but we needed to edit it every time New Zealand gets a medal and that was very challenging, but I managed to complete. What I learnt was this is New Zealand best performance at the Olympics, during covid-19 and that is very shocking. Some facts about New Zealand olympians is the New Zealand women weightlifter was the first transgender olympians to be in the Olympics and she was really proud of herself, also Lisa Carrington has the most medals ever for New Zealand, but it turns out that Sophie Pascoe has more gold medals from the Paralympics . I had lots of fun doing this activity and I can't wait for the next Olympics.   

Science Topic 8 Acids and Bases

 Today we went to Tamaki College to learn science. First of all we labeled each item we will be testing on a well plate. Then measure about 4 or 5 drops of each substances into the well plate and mark it for that item. Next we took 10 difference strips of litmus paper, so that we can test at least nine substances. Then we predicted  are result before we tested are experiment, to see what we think what the litmus paper colour will change into. After that we took one small piece of red and blue litmus paper, dipped it into one of the substances to be tested. As we dip it in one of the substance, we wrote down what colour the litmus paper changed. Finally we finished testing, we wrote down all of the results and packed and went back to school. What I learned that if you put red litmus paper in a base substances it will turn blue and if you dip blue in a acid substances it will turn red. I had lots of fun learning about acids and bases and thanks to Mrs Sharma for teaching us about acids and bases.

  

 

Science Topic 7 Osmosis and Transpiration

Today for science we learnt about osmosis and transpiration. At first we started with Mrs Sharma was teaching us about what was osmosis and transpiration, then we were watching a video about what happens if you put a celery inside salt water and the outcome is the celery starts to die. Then we watched another video about what happens if we put celery in food colouring and that the experiment are class was about to do. 

The supplies we needed was: 

-Celery

- Water

- Food Colouring

- Cups

- Scissors

When we got are supplies we needed to do theses steps:

- 200 mls of water in a conical flask - Add 10 drops of red food coloring into water - Cut the bottom of the celery - Put celery into water - Stir the water

- Put bag over the celery and tie it so no oxygen can get into the celery - Wait at least 30 minutes before moving the celery

When we did all of that we needed to wait so we learnt more about osmosis and transpiration. After that we untied the bag and took the celery out, it wasn't red that much but we cutted it open then we saw the xylem but I didn't have that much red in mine but it was ok because some of the students had food colouring inside of the xylem and that was really cool. I had lots of fun doing this and thank you to Mrs Sharma for teaching us about osmosis and transpiration.

Cybersmart Challenge 16 Poster

 Today I did cybersmart challenge 16. The challenge was easy because, I made a poster before and I remembered what to do, and I managed to finish the poster . I was a little bit of tired to do my work, because I was running around, but I pushed myself to do my work and I'm so glad I did my poster because it was fun and I hope you guys like it.
