Today I did cybersmart challenge 16. The challenge was easy because, I made a poster before and I remembered what to do, and I managed to finish the poster . I was a little bit of tired to do my work, because I was running around, but I pushed myself to do my work and I'm so glad I did my poster because it was fun and I hope you guys like it.
Today I did cybersmart challenge 15. Very sorry I couldn't record my voice because my mic wasn't working and I'm very sorry for that. The challenge was sort of hard at first, because I couldn't find my all about me, but I managed to find it and also managed to finish the cybersmart challenge. Looking at my old post I realised that I didn't improve much, but I did edit some of the parts that I was not right. I really enjoyed this challenge and I will try and improve my writing next time.
Today room 6 and room 10 went to Te Oro to learn about Matariki. Both of are class walked down to Te Oro at Glen Innes. When we got at Te Oro we were introduced by a lovely lady that told us to take are shoes off before we walked in the whare. When we took are shoes we went inside the whare and sat down on the floor, we were introduced by a teacher called Mr Logan and he was really fun. Then they put us in 3 groups and I was in the second group and it was the best group. We were learning about how to make a whetu (stars) with harakeke (flax). It was hard making a whetu with the flax but I managed to finish it. Then all are groups got up at different time and said what we learnt. At the end we got in a circle and started to sing a maori song before we leave and it was fun singing with all the teachers and students. I had lots of fun going to Te Oro and thank you to Mr Logan for having room 6 and room 10 at Te Oro.
On Monday, some students and I took a stage eight spelling test. It was really hard spelling the words because I was getting confused but I managed to finish it. My result for my spelling test was 100%, I was really happy about my test result and that really hyped me up. I really enjoyed the test and I was really happy with my result.
On Monday my class and I did a math strand test. It was hard at first but I kept on trying and trying, until I finished my test. On my test I achieved a 5B, and I'm really happy with my result and for my next math strand test, I'll try and achieve a 5A. For me to achieve my goal is to listen more at math class and try harder in math class. I really enjoyed the test and I'm really happy with my result.
Today for science class at technology, we were learning and making bubbles. At first we were writing the equipment and stuff we need to make are bubbles. Next are teacher Mrs Sharma gave us the equipment to make are bubbles. Then we needed to grab a beaker and fill 150 mls of water. Then we put 5 grams of sugar inside are water and stir it around to make it dissolve. Next we put in soap and glycerol inside are water and stirred it again to make are bubbles. Then we made are wand and grabbed straws to blow are bubbles. Finally we started to make are bubbles and we started to had fun and made a caterpillar. I had lots of fun making bubble and thanks to Mrs Sharma for teaching us about bubbles.
On Friday my class and I did a statistic math test. At first it was easy, but it kept on getting harder and harder, but I managed to complete my test. My result for my test was a 4A and I happy with that result, but I knew I could've done better. The next statistic math test, I will try and achieve 5P and to achieve that I will work really hard in math class and pay attention more at math class. I really enjoyed the test and I'm very happy with my result.
Throughout this week I was working on my family tree. It was easy because I know my family tree without looking at anything. I could've did more but I was a little too lazy to do it. I had lots of fun doing my family tree.
Today I did another math test this term and it was number test again. It was really struggling at first, but I managed to finish the test. This test was sort of harder than last test and I really enjoyed the test. I achieved a 5B for this math test and the last test I did, I achieved a 4A and I'm really happy with my result from my test. For my next number math test, I willing to get a 5A, because that will make me really happy, and show me how many sub-levels I went up. To achieve that goal, I really need to work hard in math class and do more math at home.
Today we read a book called ngatu with a new students teacher, Miss Myers. The book was very interesting, because it was different cultures and I love to learn about different culture, even if, it's my own culture. What I learnt, is to find the main idea, you can summarise the text in your own words. I also learnt about the process making the ngatu and some new words for my vocabulary, is repetition. I had lots of fun reading the book and thanks to Miss Myers for teaching are group.
Today I did a reading test. During the test it started of easy then got difficult because the vocabulary on the text we have to read was getting harder but I managed to finish the math test. My last result from term 1 I got a 4A and today I got a 4P, I went one sub-level down, but I will try and work harder throughout this whole year . My goal for next test is a 5P because that will really hype me up and I will be very happy with that result. For me to reach that goal I will really need to read more books and really work hard everyday at reading class. I'm really happy with a 4P and I hope I get a 5P next time.
Today I did a math test on numbers. During the test it was really hard because most of the equations we didn't learn but I managed to finish the math test. My last result from term 1 I got a 4B and today I got a 4A, I improved so much from term 1. My goal for next test is a 5P because that will really hype me up and I will be very happy with that result. For me to reach that goal I will really need to pay attention in math class and really work hard everyday at math class. I'm really happy with a 4A and I hope I get a 5P next time.
Today I we went to science class at technology. In the beginning we started with a video that Mrs Sharma showed us about flowers. Next we needed to draw a hibiscus flower and label all the parts of the hibiscus. Then Mrs Sharma handed around a chopping board and a knife to dissect a hibiscus. Then we watched a video and while we were watching we were dissecting the hibiscus. Next we took the pollen from the hibiscus and mash it up and put it on glass slide and a cover slide. Finally we put 2 drops of water on the pollen, and then put it under the microscope. It was very clear to see it and it was fun going to technology and doing science.
At school one of the students brought sugarcane to class. It was an amazing plant to see because it is very rare to grow in New Zealand because sugar cane loves to grow in warm areas, like the islands. I was glad that I had a chance to eat sugarcane because this could be my first and last time eating sugarcane. All of the students in room six sat down on the floor and got ready to eat the sugarcane.
It was my first ever time trying sugarcane in my life. As soon as I got the sugarcane I needed to peel the bark off so I could chew the inside part and that was really difficult to peel because I used my teeth but I managed to peel it off. The sugarcane tasted like sugar but in a liquored form and it wasn’t something I was expecting but it was delicious.
Today I did a Google Form about coconut tree. It was hard making up the questions but I managed to finish the form. I wrote the questions based from a coconut article and it was really interesting to read. I had fun making this Google Form and I hope you enjoy my Google Form.
Today we went to technology class science. It was hard learning floating and sinking but as soon we learned more about sinking and floating, I had more information about floating and sinking. In the beginning we were learning about floating and sinking, next we wrote all the equipment down on a Google Doc, then we grabbed are equipment for are experiment and test the size, the weight, what the object is made of, predict if it will sink or float and then we test the balls and blocks if it will float or sink. Finally we packed up and went to school. I learnt if the object is half in the water it called semi - float and that really helped me in my learning. I had lots of fun in science and thank you to Mrs Sharma for teaching are class.
Today I did a word art on a chameleon. At first it was hard to do a chameleon but I managed to finish it. I learnt how to make a chameleon with words. Most of these words represent me and what I love to do. I had lots of fun and thank you Mrs Peterson for showing us how to do it.
Today I did cybersmart challenge 14 quality blog post. The challenge was sort of hard but I managed to finish it. I didn't learn that much, but I learnt how to make a quality blog post and I also know how to make a quality blog comment. I had lots of fun doing this challenge and I hope you enjoy my Google Slide.
Today I did a DLO about coconut tree and the uses of it. At the beginning it was difficult but I managed to finish the DLO. I learnt that every part of the coconut is very useful, like the coconut husk is use to make a rope. I had a lot of fun making a DLO about a coconut tree and I hope you enjoy my Google Slide.
Today I did a screencastify about tsunami movement. First it was challenging to do screencastify, but I managed to do it at the end of my animation. I didn't learnt that much but I learnt how a tsunami work. I had lots of fun doing this animation and I hope you enjoy my animation.
Today for technology I went to science class and it was the third week of technology for science class. In the beginning we needed to make a Google Doc and write down the equipment we needed for our experiment. First we grabbed equipment, a beaker, spatula, sugar, weighing machine, petri dish, and a stirring rod. Secondly we pour 100 ml of cold water into a beaker. Thirdly we put a petri dish on our weighing machine, and then we put 10 grams of sugar on a petri dish Fourthly we poured the 10 grams of sugar inside of the beaker, and as soon as we poured it in, we needed to time how long it takes for the sugar to dissolve in cold water, with a stirring rod.Then we poured the cold water out and then, poured the hot water in. After that we again put 10 grams of sugar on the weighing machine to see if it is 10 grams. Finally we poured the 10 grams of sugar inside of the hot water, then timed it to see how long it takes for the sugar to dissolve in hot water with a stirring rod. My time for hot water was 20 seconds and for my cold water it was 1 minutes and 2 seconds. What I learned was that sugar dissolve way faster in hot water then cold water. I had a lot of fun doing the experiment and thank you to Ms. Sharma for teaching us about science.
Today I did cybersmart challenge 13 my digital footprint. The challenge was not that hard because my history was clear but it was hard to put the image in because the background, but I managed to fix it. I learnt not that much, but it important to be on the right site every time. I had a lot of fun doing this and I hope you guys enjoy my blog.
Today I did cybersmart challenge 12 what we share. The challenge was easy, because it easy to sort my public stuff and private stuff and I know my life. Today I was in science class for technology. In the beginning, we were introduced to a different teacher, her name was Mrs Wong and she was really fun. Second Mrs Wong handed out papers with the basic equipment names and we have to read and know the purpose of the equipment. Thirdly she gave us a chance to choose an equipment and say the name, I chose an ammeter and that weighs electricity. Finally Mrs Wong asked us to measure 50 ml with a measuring cylinder, with water then pour it in a beaker twice so we can get 100 ml on the dot. I learnt a lot of things from Mrs Wong, like measuring is very important in science and more. I had a lot of fun doing science and I thank Mrs Wong for teaching us.
